To all Bantams fans worrying about the prospect of having to miss work on Monday afternoon, or phone in sick prior to the game against Reading.
Fear not; Bantams Banter is here.
Below is a template letter for you to use as you see fit. Simply fill in the gaps and you are good to go. This is a legally binding letter*
Dear [INSERT MANAGERS NAME],
I regret to inform you that ___________ will not be able to make it into work this afternoon due to a matter of great urgency.
His/Her team, Bradford City, have made it all the way to the quarter finals of the FA Cup and are one win away from going to Wembley.
Now, I know said employee may have recently asked for time off work due to previous 'Wembley' commitments, but as the legal Bradford City FC representative for__________ I can assure you this will be the last time in a long time we will request leave of absence in this manner. (Plus, it's the FA Cup, if you're not familiar - it's a big deal.)
If you have any questions regarding this request then please feel free to contact me directly where I will 'fob you off' for a long enough period of time so as to ensure ______________ can in fact make the game and return to work in the morning without you realising.
I suggest you grant permission for this request, otherwise you will have one severely p****d off employee.

*this is completely not legally binding, but worth a try none the less.
